The jdm have no lpt interface, it's simple rs232 level converter, with zener diodes and several transistor. If you need lpt connection try an589 programmer.

I just thought you would like to know that the JDM programmer design, will program PICs f84 f628 f877a but it will not program the 18f452 Ic's.
Just thought you would like to know this before you decide to go the JDM route.
If some one knows how to get the JDM design to fuly work/program the Pic18f452 IC please let me know.
Rgds

@Zenner:
have you checked on the link i posted? if it's not for LPT then why does the one on the link i gave had a configuration of DB25? and this is the finish product http://www.jdm.homepage.dk/newpic.htm.... if it's really for COM why it has a DB25 at the PCB? pls check the link i gave because this also confuses me.

It's not lpt, it's COM(rs232) db25 connector.
db25-=-=-=-db9
--------------------
2=------------=>3
7=------------=>5
5=------------=>8
20=-----------=>4
4=------------ =>7
connect it, if you have db9

Dear iDk
Yes of course it is for serial com port.
There are two kind of conectors for com ports : one with 9 pins and the other one with 25pins (the older one).
I've build many JDM programmers succesfully.
It is very simple to make it and set-up.
If your SO is Win Xp or Win 2000 you have to install a driver, in order to get it working.
You should also set:
options/misc/enable nt/2000/xp driver
hardware setings/ interface direct I/O
i/o delay 10
good luck!!!

i advise you to reduce com port speed to 2400 bps, and the use of prog50x for pic's 12c50X and pix
for X84, those are DOS software.

| The original RS-232-C spec has 25 pins. Most of the signals defined in the spec are not used. Therefore, 9 pins is more than sufficient.

| kan iemand me zeggen hoe ik het sys bestand moet opladen bij ic programmer voor de seriele poort? Blijkbaar is het bestand bij de .exe plaatsen niet voldoende.

Hello,
Can somebody tell me how to load that system file for win2000/XP.
I've placed the sys file in the same folder of the exe file but it don't seems to work. I can connect to my programmer and set the MCLR DATA or CLK on or off. But if I can't download the code.
