siemens simatic s5
hi, is it possible to connect to simatic S5 and S7 Plcs with a microcontroller (PIC, 8051 etc) through MPI bus (or other bus)??
(not using OPC server or other comercial software)

i just want to have access to some variables of the program (production count, etc)
could someone please help me?

Through MPI Bus it will be difficult.
In the simplest way you can prepare such a data exchange in RS232 ASCII mode but
you must have RS communication processor in your PLC.
