27 Sep 2003 13:06 DVI, any help? |
|
|
|
Is there anybody with experience in this field?
I have to develope a Digital Visual Interface
receiver on an @ltera FPGA: I have to extract
the RGB bits and the syncs.
I'm also looking for DVI transceiver chips vendors.
Any help?
Thanks in advance,
A.C.

DEAR:
I think you use DVI interface in Monitor , I never use FPGA to do it
But I know how to layout it
and the Tx / Rx Chip such as Sii160 / Sii161 has a fixed connection
If you need any help
Welcome send Email to me

and I am sorry about my poor English ^^

DVI use TMDS chip.
You can find TMDS chip from Silicon Image or TI website
Silicon Image Homepage is www.siimage.com
DVI spec is here
www.ddwg.org
have a nice day

I have got some experiece with DVI
But I have never heared that somebody made DVI receiver using FPGA.
If you are going to provide DDC info, you can use simple 24C01 EEPROM. You can use FPGA if some data processing is required. Otherwise, it is no sense to use it. For RGB and sync extraction you should use specialized chips like SiI151A (Silicon Image), TFP201 (TI) or THC63DV151 (THine). Look here for chips vendors:
