I recently requested samples from PHILIPS .I asked for 4 pieces of each part i was sent 10 of each .They came from a Hong kong wharehouse and did take 5 days to arrive . I think this company is generous .righ there $500 worth of parts .. I was impressed !

PHILIPS is a MONSTER they do so many things .I was not able to get anywhere with their web sites . Then i talked to a lady from their semiconductor group .. She gave me an e-mail address and said .Just
make your request .and describe the project .. I did it and later she replied telling me about dates of delivery .. Only when i got the parts i discovered that they send 10 of each and a total of 20 parts .. I know that street values is almost $25 per part .So i'm still impressed ..
By the way i'm based in the US

Hi all,
I recently asked for Coilcraft inductrors samples, i recieved an auto-reply mail to tell me that it was OK ... but received nothing.. I am in Europa, did somone here have a positive or negative experience with them ?

I am a design engeener, I remember, 20 years ago, how painfull it was to get samples ( an how expensive ! ) sometime I had to wait for 6 month !
Today, when it is possible, my choices go to Maxim, TI and Philips for ICs.
If we don't abuse, the politic of free sample is an oportunity for all.
Also students will remember 5 or 10 years later, the company that helped them and the part ref. of ICs....

Where I can get samples like diodes, transistors. Fairchild refused to send these but it does send me IC samples. They are listed as samples. I tried for the second time it still refused me. Do Fairchild sends samples of IC's?

8) samples are sent on the basis of your geographic location. eltonjohn got the samples bcause he Lives in US .
if u are working in some big company and u order samples u r sure to get them.

I tried them, they charge a lot for shipping. 4 transistors and 4 diodes are not worth 8 dollars shipping.

maxim has a lot of, and they send samples...2 max per part. but it's electronic switchs, not mechanical.

I got some from fairchild two years ago (even some with alpha display nice Smile

but they are not available as sample anymore. I think I was the last one to get them as they stopped display samples just after sending to me !!

I always work with PIC. But I ordered 3 sample microcontrollers for start-up from Atmel at least 4 months ago and I still do not have them.

Do they ship samples in USA? or I have to re-Order them?

Finally they are here! They came from a local sales distributer in New Jersay. 4.5 months delay.

I must start work with these uC's. Atmel seem temping.

I tried before, a guy called me but he said his company, as one of ATMEL distributors in my country, did not provide sample. The company will only sell in huge volume, e.g. 1000pcs. Who's going to buy such a huge quantity especially those just want a few pieces for prototyping. Most distributors do not focus on single product. So, they don't really mind to boost their sale by giving away samples.

I'm looking for samples to do RF communication.

I want to send a switch signal to a pic via RF communication. The distence is aproximatively 30 m (inside a house).

I've tried to request RFpic but MICROCHIP stop to send any more Crying or Very sad

Do you have any products (samples) to sugest me to request ?

I come from France.
And I'm sure that they stops sending RF samples, however most of commons pics are still sent as sample.

Could you suggest me other samples from other company to do RF communication ?
