i don't know, that anybody wrote it or not, but:
I needed some DSP sample from texas, ant the TI didn't send it. Because of that, i tried in the local distributor: SPOERLE. i wrote some e-mails, somethimes thes answered, somethimes not. one time i went to their office, to ask about buying, but i asked first about the samples. After that they ordered 2 pieces of DSPs, just i hat to go back to their office, for it. it took 5 months.

another:
allegro microdevices. i ordered some parts, and i got it...after 5 months.

Hi everybody!

Concerning samples, I had som recent misfortune... I live in sweden and I tried Analog Devices online shop service, but they refused to accept the order without a "VAT ID" number. I cancelled the order and I asked them why, but I haven't got any answer. Besides, there is still some 30€ or so missing on my VISA account?! Now I have tried to get them to send samples instead...

Anyone that recognizes these problems? Any tips/solutions?

An update to my previous post:
The missing VISA account money turned up today, it just took some time obviously. Also, they sent the samples I requested! (at least according to the info on my AD account) Still no reply from AD regarding the question about "VAT ID" though, so if anyone knows anything about this please let me know.

They are sending samples! But they want to know everything about your project! Some times they are asking question about your e-mail address too, I'm serious!

Consider that!

A question of mine is: why can't I request samples from h**p://www.avagotech.com/ (former Agilent Semiconductor) ?

I spend hours searching, reading the website, trying out where is the eSample, what they mention at the log-on screen.
