Hi friends, I need your advice:
Time ago I've build a device whose output
consist of an asynchronous 24 bits bus + data strobe. I'd like to connect this bus to a PCI interface, through a FIFO, to be able
to process outcoming data from the host PC.
The bus frequency is 30 Mhz, in bursts. I need to do the job quickly, so I'm thinking to use an AMCC 5933 devel kit, that I already have, and to build a simple daughter card with the receivers and the FIFO. Does someone has better ideas ? Does someone knows about other PCI boards that I could use for this purpose ? Thanks a lot

Hi proton,

do not use the AMCC Chip, because the performance is not on a high level.
Please inform you about the PLX 9054 for master or PLX 9052 for slave applications.
If you have any questions, post it !!!

Bye Curgan
