Hi
Some time you get fail Confused from the norton from few case:

1. a broken installation - so you need uninstall all norton,
see in the add/remuve programs of the xp for other additional norton
prog that be remove like regitery, liveupdate, etc...
2. virus Twisted Evil - if a virus is in your system the norton will fail work, you can't install it ok,
to resolve the problem is recommended to make a virus search of the
hd from anoter computer with last ver of norton when you add your hd
to this computer if you know how.
and also do line 1 to remuve all norton.

3. some time specific ver of internetexploere and msn make problem to the norton.

* if you get an eror code from the norton ,you can see in the site of norton
the cause of that problem

- the most popular crash are option 2. and after option 1.

Best regards. Cool

After uninstalling also run sysclean.exe that is one of the files on the 2003 CD. This will make sure nothing is left behind to prevent a possible problem when trying to reinstall
