To programm S7-200 you need SIEMENS micro/Win - its not protected and if you find somebody with legal version you can copy it. But the problem is with interface. To programm you will ned PPI interface.

To program S7 300 you will need SIEMENS STEP 7 - its protected by software key. but you need interface too. - its rather expensive

This software is to large and i think you cant find it in internet

Siemens has many programs and updates available for download, for example step7 v5.0 sp4 could be downloaded from the link:

This is a functional version but for prolonged use it is suggested to buy the license.

Regarding to the MPI adapter needed for the pc-plc link you can get a fine one from h**p://www.helmholz.de They are not so expensive.

For the S7-200 plc family, the PPI adapter is an RS232-RS485 converter, you can use any available or bild one taking care in checking that the pinouts correspond to the plc connector.

change the setup.INX Files
