Post22 May 2003 5:25   P/S/D 14.2 nic not connected problem

I installed C(at)dence P/S/D 14.2 in a XP in node locked license mode with a keys from a keygen. I have a realtek 8139 NIC installed, but not connected to anybody. The program does not start with a message that there is no NIC in the computer. When i'm connected through dial up, I can use all the programs.

How can I solve this problem?

You can use a loopback connector (RJ-45) plug into nic socket. The active led should be lit. Assign a fix IP for your LAN connection, 10.1.0.1 for exsample. The lic should be work then.

Please refer FAQ in Flexlm

Problem: Windows 2000 systems (laptop/desktop) returns "000000000000" or "FFFFFFFFFFFF" for the Ethernet hostid, when physically disconnected from the network.
Answer: This is a known issue with Windows 2000. This problem is associated with it's Media Sense for TCP/IP. In the past, we suggested disabling the Media Sense for TCP/IP on Windows 2000 system as a workaround; and referred the following MS web-page for details:

http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q239/9/24.asp

However, we no longer recommend the above workaround, since, this problem has been fixed in the FLEXlm v7.2d. For this fix to take affect, both the client application and the vendor daemon has to be upgraded to FLEXlm v7.2d+.

Goog luck!
