Title: Universal Programmer Analyser - UPA
Version: 2.3 Lite (the full version can be found at http://www.elrasoft.com
License: Freeware
Author: ELRA-Kovatchev
With the logic analyser can be researched pulse series up to 4 channels simultaneous.nput1 to Input4
use parallel port pins BUSY, ACK, PE, SLCT corresponding. The state of the inputs watched by UPA
is remembered in the memory, if they change their logical levels (0 ->1 or 1-> 0) . The moment of
the change is remembered too. Accuracy depends on Sampling Rate (the time needed of the computer
to read parallel port). This value is approximately 1-2us, but there are PCI Parallel Ports that have
speed less then 600ns (NetMos PCI Parallel Port). The forbidden interrupts contribute for high
accuracy during the scanning process. The hardware button located on the PCB is the only way to
switched off the analyser during this period. Analyser may stay switched on until the buffer is filled
on, but no more than 4294967295 * Sapling rate (approximately 70 minutes at Sampling Rate=1us).
This feature allows control of very slow flowing processes.
I2C and Microwire protocols can be captured using the Protocol Monitor. For example the user can
see all data flow between a MCU and an eeprom.
Features:
Analyser
4 selectable channels
The maximal time during analyser can be on is approximately 70 minutes (Sampling Rate=1us)
Error +/- 1us (Sampling Rate=1us)
Markers: 2 characters per sample
Editor: Deleting, sample editing, markers
Sampling rate depends on the speed with the computer read the parallel port. Usually 1-2us (<600ns
when a PCI Parallel Port Adaprer is used)

12 May 2003 23:43 UPA Improvement |
|
|
|
Hi
nICE LA, btw...
but being your landsman, I have some possible improvements in mind of cource ...
1. What about having a 8 bit (or more) interface (not only 4)
2. What about speed improvement: I have had speed of up to 2MSPS and with some PP cards even more...
3. FIFO option for minimising sampling jitter
4. Multiplexing for multiplying the speed (versus ch.) or Combinign for More channels (F*N=BW)
Contact me if you R interested...

| I'll see what I can do, I had a look recently on a good USB2.0 interface, but I don't now the price yet... though aiming at USB2.0 you go in higher price class....
