You can also try TimeGen, available at:
http://www.xfusionsoftware.com
But I think you need Windows OS.

mami_hacky,
For Linux, why don't u look at http://drawtiming.sourceforge.net
That's not the best alternative. But at least something is better than having nothing

Hi, All:
You can try this one, written in Excel Macro.
It's very easy to use.
Hope it helps.

| SynaptiCAD makes a professional timing diagram editor called Timing Diagrammer Pro that can be downloaded from www.syncad.com. You can get a free 2 week evaluation license to play around with the tool. It does real critical path timing analysis by having the delays, setups, and holds move and monitor signal edges. It is also smart enough to remove common delays in the calculations so you design very fast circuits. It is easy to use and comes with several tutorials

For Linux use Xfig 3.2 it is already installed package with RHL linux.
With little initial learning u can easily create waveorms with this tool.

There are several free timing diagram diagram editors out there but they do not actually do the timing analysis for you. They are not much better than using graph paper and adding up the times your self.
For a timing diagram editor that does timing analysis try WaveFormer Pro from SynaptiCAD. It propogates the min-max times through the timing chain AND it removes common delay from setup and hold calcuations. WaveFormer can also simulate Boolean and Registered logic equations, so you don't have to think so hard when drawing the waveforms. SynaptiCAD will also give you a free two week evaluation copy and there is student pricing.
