Post14 Apr 2003 13:02   DRC warnings

Hi,
how to handle parts that have different naming on power supply pins?

DRC gives warning if e.g. VCC and VDD is connected.

How to work around?

Hi mastorrage.

First it's just a warning, so you can chose to ignore it.

Else I see to options.
1. Connect Vcc and Vdd with a 0 Ohm resistor.
2. Create you're own component to connect the two power net's, in pratice just a connection, but hidden in a component.

Just change, for example, VDD net name to VCC, then eagle will ask you if you want to connect the net.

In my last design, in the shematic, everything was still correctly connected.
Then a switched over to the layout and routed the wires by hand(was not so difficult), after i had finished and i saw no more small orange wire which
go straight between the pin( and which appeer when you start to layout your design) i printed the design and everything was nice ...
Later i saw at first that there were wires missing on the layout of the finished circut.. i look into the eagle layout and they were missing there also ... Sad, then i looked into the shematic and there i found them! It seems that eagle forgot these wires when i hand routed the wires.

Is that possible(=>BUG) or do i need glasses to see these tiny wires?(I am sure that there are no ones left)

Thanks,

hello webtype

at the end of drawing type "RATSNEST"

then eagle calculates Polygons and Airwires new, if there are no more airewires eagle writes "nothing to do"
if not so, there are unroutet Airwires....click route and click on the board
if there are unroutet signals you will see the source of them

Post26 Sep 2003 18:54   Re: If anybody need help in EAGLE, ask me in this POST !

I see that another version of Eagle has been released.

I have checked the cadsoft site, so far, I havent seen a great deal of addons or improvement. If I request INfo from Cadsoft, they tell me that the new ver is the greatest thing going blah blah blah.

I am currently using ver 4.08
and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if ver4.12 is worth me shelling out another $300us to do another upgrade.

After searching many cad programs, eagle seems to be the only one who can output HPGL. But I don't want to 'fill pads' any solution?

Hi Hugo,
is it possible that you are using a Matrox graphics card?
I have the same problems on Win2k with Matrox cards (G200 and G450DH).
No problems with nVidia.
For me it looks like a Matrox problem.
I hope this helps a little.

With best regards,

Post14 Dec 2003 18:31   Eagle 4.11: problem with rounded traces

Hello, I am a new member on this forum. I user Eagle version 4.08r2 for quite some time, and few days ago switched to version 4.11
I was pleased to see new buttons to put rounded traces in the layout, untill I realised that when I save this file and load again rounded traces are gone, replaced with straight lines and corners, and missing segment from the trace. It seems that it is not possible to fix that layout. I deleted this wire from the schematic, but then I got an airwire from that location going somewhere in the orbit.
Evil or Very Mad Is that some known bug, or I am doing something wrong?

Hello every body, I'm from Viet Nam!
I have a question: How I convert between Orcad files and Eagle files.
(In my country a lot of people use Orcad and P*otel but I feel Eagle is good enough for me. So I get difficult to exchange my design with other.)

I have seen some requests for illegal licenses for Eagle in this topic.
This is not allowed and all members who upload or asks for illegal licenses or files at elektroda will be banned!

Post08 Jan 2004 0:55   Re: If anybody need help in EAGLE, ask me in this POST !

Can someone tell me how I would go about disconnecting the auto wiring of the Gnd and VCC power supply pins of two seperate IC devices.

IE. if you place two NE555 timer ICs in your design you will see that the power pins of the two ICs are wired together.

This is no good as I want to power each IC from a different supply/voltage.

You can edit the 555 timer IC device to stop this, but it is a real pain to change power pins to I/O pins within the library editor for every part in Eagle.

Surely there is an easier way, espeacially when you have to do this for each library of hundreds of ICs.

PS using the INVOKE command will not work for do this type of operation.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Post21 Jan 2004 2:31   Re: If anybody need help in EAGLE, ask me in this POST !

Hi,
does anyone know how to make the "NC Drill Chart" from Eagle? He is *not* intrested in the output files generated by "excellon.cam". (since he is a small PCB manufracturer and does not have the capability)

The NC drill chart that he showed was a positive print with all drill points of different sizes(drill bits/diameter) in different small gemetric shapes. He says that he can use it to drill.

can someone help me out please?

Post23 Jan 2004 15:56   Re: If anybody need help in EAGLE, ask me in this POST !

Dear Group,

I am using Eagle 4.11 Lite and have written a script file which draws the desired outline of my board (which is smaller than 80mm x 100mm). The script file also defines my drill sizes, default diameter menu, etc. My problem is that I cannot find where Eagle 4.11 Lite defines it's default board size (80mm x 100mm) so that I can prevent the default outline from apprearing in additon to my new outline.

Yes, I could just delete the old/default outline wires, but I'd like to learn the proper way to accomplish this.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
John
