Look for micrel, http://www.micrel.com/product-info/rf.shtml, they have low-cost RF module which can be easy to use with uC.

Take a look at www.nvlsi.no
they have very nice transceivers for 315-433-900-2900 MHz

When i browse to www.motorola.com i was found MC33591(Rx)
and MC33493 (Tx), and till now, i still looking for RF Tranceiver module
the best for design communication data with wireless.

Chipcon is available, TI's TRF6900A is available. If u are interested I can design the circuit for u.....

Look on MOTOROLA site, they have 8051 with RF transmitter embedded.
Also, if I recall right, MICROCHIP have PIC processors with RF transmitter integrated

I happened to purchase a similar 4 channel RF remote kit from M/s united 7 Technologies in which each channel can be selected to work in latching or the momentary mode. The said kit uses two 89C2051 each on the TX and the RX sections. Its great. Have a look at www.united77.com/projects.htm

and then to RF modules....i think the modules are easy to obtain...
