LM2577 step up voltage regulator

Hi everyone, I plan to use LM2577 to step up my voltage, but when i read the datasheet it seems that they did not provide the current input requirement for it.

According to datasheet an input of 5V will be enought to do the step up.

What i wana ask is ,does this mean when i juz input 5V to it and ignore about the input current i can able to step up my DC?

Thanks for replyin

Hi

It says in the datasheet that you should not apply more than 6A when used as a step-up converter. Look under "Note 2".

does this means,as long as the current is below 6A is will be alright?what i afraid is my input current might be too low

Hi

Yes and that you dont have to high input(40V) and output voltage(60V).

You need to have an input source that can give the the required current otherwise it is not strange that your output voltage drop.
