Can standing waves change the phase of transmited signal?

Hi,

I have frequency synthesizer. I connected cox cable at the output of the frequency synthesizer.

Is it possible If the outer conductor of the coax that runs from the VCO output touches other metallic bodies and standing waves changes phase making pulling effect on the synthesizer centre frequency, then causing phase jumps of the output microwave frequency?

Any transmission line (or coax cable) can introduce a phase shift of the signal.

but can this phenomenon do effect on the synthesizer centre frequency and causing phase jumps of the output microwave frequency?

Thanks in advance
