What is the need of Differential Receiver in the transceiver


hi all

What is the need of Differential Receiver in the transceiver Cell of an USB IO?

Pls find the main blocks of USB Transceiver IO attached...

You can most likely configure the two adjacent pins to use differential signalling for Tx and Rx functions. Very useful for critical high speed signals where you want to reduce the differential component of cross-talk significantly.

The box circled is for receiving differential data and will find the differential voltage between the two signals at the pins (Vdiff_rx = Vd_p - Vd_m). Vp and Vm are presumably 180 degress out of phase for proper crosstalk supression.

do you have any idea why two single ended receivers are used for in general in a transevier?
