Hi,
I want to run a cnc spindle with a servo motor and yesterday I picked up a BNIB mitsubishi 750watt servo drive from ebay..
Can I use a 400watt servo motor if I adjust the "high torque limit" Pot/resistor to a fixed resistor with correct value?
It's not because I don't like the 750watt ..but the motor flange size is to large
Best regards
Thomas
btw..Can I use other brands or do the motor have to match the driver exactly? |
In general, medium voltage (200-400V) AC drives are not picky, as long as the feedback device is of correct type. You can certanly run a 400W motor on a 750W drive as long as you don't exceed the maximum motor current.
I have mixed brands on motors and drives, as long as the type is the same i have had no problems.
