ip multimedia subsystem research topics
I am doing MS in Communication system engineering, and it is in course work phase, after some months research phase will start for which i have following options

1. IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS)
2. Voip (SIP)
3. Cognitive Radio (Dynamic Spectrum Allocation)
4. LTE (Long term evolution 4G)


I have some introductory knowledge about all these and similar interest. I want to have your comments on (1) long term aspects of these topics, as well as (2) What strong background needed for these topics to be researched.
