LM35 package heat


Hi
i have problem with the LM35 temp. sensor, since i connect it to a supply the package extremely heated and become very hot......should I connect a certain peripheral (resistor network or something like that)or consider the sensor dead?

LM35 package heat


If you are sure that power and ground are attached in the correct polarity and you have not exceed the +20V power rail, then the device is dead.

You can try disconnecting the output pin, but I suspect the device needs to be replaced.

LM35 package heat


Refer to the pin connections given in the attchment and confirm you have supplied power to the correct pins. Nornal designs will have 5 volts DC supply. Good luck

Now I'm quite sure, device is already dead, may be when i bought it was faulty.
