i design a patch antenna for GSM 900 but it not cover all the band (880 MHz-960 MHz) and i would like to know if a patch it's a good idea?

how to cover this band? do i make a stacked antenna?

after making one element, i need to make and array do you have ideas.

thanks a lot

antenna for gsm 900

patch antenna bandwidth is too narrow for cellular band. Try to use IFA (inverted F antenna) or PIFA (planar inverted F antenan), or even simple monopole antenna for handset.

Antenna selection depends upon its application.
For Base station, Patch and dipole antennas(element) are used.
For Hand held devices, PIFA & FICA are used.

If you need higher gain say around 6dBi you can go for Patch Antenna.
patch antenna can be designed for GSM900.It'll cover entire band
PIFA antenna will be around 1.5dBi gain.
