Hi,
I found some schematics for GTP USB:
GTP USB +
GTP USB Lite
GTP USB
for GTP USB + isn't hex file for free download
what is better? GTP USB or GTP USB lite?
I want to programme PIC: 16F628A, 16F84, 12F675 and 18F2550
I have clone ICD2 (potyo1), but isn't working
then i want to make something simpler.
Thanks

| My Junebug kit (PICkit2) is better than the GTP by far.

GTP USB+ is not free. The others are.
Suggestion: forget about the gtp and build a PicKit2.
Blueroomelectronics has an excellent kit (Junebug). It is, however, limited to 5v devices.
funnynypd also has an excellent kit. It programs both 3v and 5v devices, but uses smt/smd components (not as easy to build). Last I heard, he was selling the PC boards for 1 cent (plus a reasonable shipping fee).
Also, I drew the original schematic into Eagle on a single-sided board with all through-hole components (and a few substitutions). The layout is not pretty, but it works. Feel free to improve the layout as needed. Check the following link:

Or, just buy an original. They are not very expensive. (about $50US)

I know,
but i need something easy to build. My question is: Can GTP USB Lite programme these PIC:

go for the pickit2 clone by junebug, its better and supports debugging...
The only thing that you might be bugged about is the inductor, you can wind it from simple transformer wire like I did. This was initially my only hesitation to go for that programmer...
Junebug is eqully simple as the gtp with no major part count or anything,, you can short the drain source of the mosfet shown if you dont have them.

You may also consider the Brenner8
The website is in German, but it is easy to navigate:

Yes. The GTP usb can program more than those PIC's. But i strongly recomend you to go for PicKit2, Brenner or Junebug for simplicity and better future. Me myself was using GTP Lite. But after i used PicKit2, i found it faar more better than the later. Good luck

Thanks a lot.
I think that a will make GTP USB Lite, because it is simplest.
After that I'll make some better programmer (but I must find out some schematics, PCB...)
once again thank you

The Junebug is no more complex than the GTP plus the firmware is part of MPLAB or PICkit2 2.55
It's both a programmer & debugger, plus it also includes a 3 channel Logic Analyzer.
Just the top half of the schematic is all you need to build.
