hi all i am a student of electrical engineering. i have a phone which its adaptor labled 5v 0.9amp. i want to charge the battery from 12v. i mean i want you all to help me to convert 12v to 5v dc 0.9amp.

Put 7805 with TO220 package.Also put current limiting resistor in between resistor.Ideal charging voltage for battery is C/5. C is total capacity.

thank you for recommendation but i used to try that one it still doesnot work. i think because of the circuit i install. i used voltmeter it points 5v but it still does not charge my phone battery and my phone also have problem of testing that charger. it does not work now.
