02 Oct 2008 16:08 Any solution for USB conversion? |

| I was using my 89Sieres programmer on my Desktop with its serial port and all was ok. Problems started when i started to use the same with PL2303 USB to serial converter with my laptop. The programmer works but most of the time gives an error message "Hardware detect timeout". I have to pull out the converter and plug it gain after say 10-20 seconds. Then it works fine again. If i keep it idle for 1 minute or so it again gives the same error. Can anyone sugest me a solution for this using the same programmer? If you too face any similar problems please do share it with me here. Any links to USB based 89sieres programmer are most wecome. Thanks in advance

| Generally, FTDI adapters work with most hardware. They have some timing settings in the control panel, they may need adjustment for a particular application. It could be, that the Prolific driver also has such settings. But my general results with Prolific are poor.
