Post29 Sep 2008 9:38   Dimensions of the L-shaped slot

Dear All,

As shown as the attached L-shaped slot antenna (microstrip type), does anyone know any calculation or method to decide the dimensions of the L-shaped slot ?

Thanks a lot !

Thomas

it is depend on antenna form that you use. it is lamda /4 or lamda/2. you can use optimizing to easy simulation

1). The "lamda/4 or lamda/2" is used for the slot width or slot length ?
2). Also, should the position of slot be considered ?

Thanks a lot !

hi you!
lamda/4 or lamda /2 is length of slot. lamda/4 if it is PIFA form....
it put at edge of Patch

Hi t25,

No need to consider the width of slot ?

Just design the width randomly in simulation software and then get the wanted result by "trail-and-error" ?
