Hi
I need to connect an energy meter to a microcontroller.
The meter uses modbus protocol to transfer data.
How can I read it in PIC18F87J10.

Hello,
Which type of energy meter you are talking about please share details. In one of similar project i get the data over rs232 but that wasn't Using modbus. Also analog devices energy meter ic like ADE7754 etc, also dont use modbus.

You have to implement Mode Bus protocol, for details refer ' modbus.org'
