Post13 Aug 2008 13:55   Software Defined Radio - how to decode SSB ?

Hello,

I started to play with SDR. I am building ZeroSDR receiver and thinking how SSB or CW demodulation works. I know I can use Rocky, M0KGK etc (anyway I need it for Linux as I do not have Windows OS).

I know that from I/Q signals I shift one of them for 90 degrees (and delay the second one) and sum the signals.

But can I use FFT on the In-phase signal and just select the small band as well ? Or it is not such simple ? Waterfall diagramm attracts to do it...
