The Basic thing you need to do is define substrate
substrate parameters such as height, relative permitivity, etc.
Then Draw Patch, provide ground plane.
Provide feed & excitaion port

See this PDF
Ask if any other doubts you have

hi,

this is very simple problem, for theory and analysis of the microstip you can refer to Microwave Engineering by David M. Pozar.

for Simulations you can use ADS/ Ansoft Designer (2D tool and 2.5D tool)
HFSS/Microwave CST/ Feko software/empire3D

Feko demo version is available, zirtapoz has already mentioned that Ansoft designer student version is free to downlowd.
