hi all,
i want to ask u about specification of WLAN antenna such as return loss, VSWR, gain, Frequency resonance, and the bandwidth.
Thx b4

VSWR and return loss are practically the same parameters. VSWR is historically older because S-parameters were introduced by Kurokawa only in 1965 and become widely used many years later. You may consider S11 about -10 dB as acceptable level with anything below -15 dB as excellent. Often even -6 dB is okay, especially for broadband systems.
Gain is related to the directionality and cannot be chose arbitrary. It is not so easy question to be answered shortly.
Frequency resonance is very specific. For some antennas it is normal mode of operation, whereas for other it must be avoid. There is no one answer for all possible cases.
Bandwidth is defined by the spec and can be determined by design. It may be not always realizable, but at least designer have some freedom to change the numbers.
There are also a lot of other antenna parameters that are critical to the system performance.

Depending upon the application of antenna, gain varies. For hand held devices normally it'll be around 2dBi gain and it should have omnidirectional pattern.Eg for this case is PIFA type of antenna
For base station application gain will be around 20dBi and it will be a directional antenna.Eg for this case is patch antenna(array).
For further more details on specification you can check out websites of different antenna vendors.Attached here is one from centurion antennas
regards,
balaguru.

thank's guys
but in thsi time i want to design proximity coupled antenna the 1st layer is triangular patch and the 2nd layer is transmission line using T-junction like a fork. it design for WLAN b/g in 2.4 GHz n i dont know the spec for this antenna? do you tihink the spec is same with pifa?
thank guys
