hi,

The question from kiprono meant your input voltage is AC or DC into the psu?

Putting it otherwise, you operate it from the mains or from a DC source?

In case you feed it from the mains, here is a circuit for a linear psu:

http://www.elecfree.com/circuit/power-supply/lm338k-adjustable-power-supply/

If you do not have 120V AC mains voltage in your country but have 220-240V, then the transformer T1 should be chosen accordingly.

If you wish to build a switch mode power supply instead of the above linear one, here is one possibility out of many:

http://uk.nuhorizons.com/news/dfiles/4607f.pdf

In this case the input voltage should be any DC between 5V - 36V and efficiency is over 90% or so, no need for big heat sink area, unlike in case of the above linear psu circuit. (So any mains transformer of 10V-24V AC output @5A with rectifier bridge and a suitable puffer cap should do.)

Here are some other choices for switch mode ICs you can choose from, of course other manufacturers are also an option:

@ibrahim_mo

In my links I referred to useful circuits. I cannot help with even more useful circuits, those are just the useful ones for your problem. You need further study in this psu topic, I wish you good luck.

You can use UC3842 or UC3843 etc for your application. Following is the circuit you can modify a little and can get ur required output.

LINK

Enjoy!

I do not understand where you take the 5A in and which circuit do you mean exactly??

i mean
your link

has a 5A transformer and the output is 5A
but my transformer is 4A and i want 5A for 24v dc output

What is your transformer secondary AC voltage output when you load it with 4A?
