29 Jun 2008 5:57 DC-DC converter for EV (new question) |
|
|
|
I am a Electrical Engineering student. I am going to do the final year project about EV DC-DC converter. The details are as follows:
Step up from battery(48-96V) to (200V) DC motor for driving the electric vehicle.
Initial: try from 48v to200v for 1kw,then 96v to 200v (4kw)
Any circuit can you suggest?
any reference, paper or resource that I can find in web?
Thanks for any experts!

A conventional push-pull converter with a transformer should be always considered, particularly for unregulated design. Step-up converter would have higher current ripple at in- and output but minimum part count. A resonant converter (e. g. ZCS) would give lower switching losses.
If bidirectional energy flow is intended (electrical braking), it should be specified.

Regarding inverter operation, I would regard full bridge as a full bridge variant. But it has some advantages as suppression of voltage spikes from transformer leak inductance.
A lot of interesting power converter circuits can be found around a design challenge mentioned in this thread: http://www.edaboard.com/viewtopic.php?t=90560. Although most circuits are DC/AC (inverter type), they may be useful also for a tranformer based DC/DC converter.
Also some power converter Ebooks are present at EDAboard, but I fear the Ebooks forum is hidden at your present member level.

also, what is the common problem of this project? noise?efficiency? please list all major problem and solution. Thanks any experts!
