Dear frnds,
I am first time using GC-Preveue software & first tm I am doing panelization ( multiple copies of final gerbers) but I am not getting how to do that ?
In help file it is mentioned that we have to use STEP & Repeat function but where is that function ? Also for panelization it is mentioned that we have to select the physical & data layer ..then edit..copy & again paste to ..but still there is some confusion ??? how to copy data of exisiting layers to unassigned layers ?
Pls help me those are familiar with gc-preveue & panelization...
Also which is the best gerber viewing software for panelization ?
Thanks in advance..

| Are you using the free version of the viewer? If so, then that function will not be available. You will need GC-PrevuePlus in order to do step and repeat.

Actually it can be done.
But ONLY if your board manufacturer can use the Graphicode GWK files it saves.
If so, then simply copy the Gerbers into another set of layers and then copy all those layers into new ones.
I.E. copper is on layer 3, read in a copy layer 3 to a new layer (using F5) and align that where you want it (using "offset").
Keep doing this until you have enough to make a panel.
Then copy (using f5 again) ALL those individual layers into a single one.
You can also Gerber bits of line & corners as std & read those in & offset to the correct places.
This was a full panel can be done using only the free ware versions.
Sounds like a lot of work but its not when you get into the swing of it.
(easier to get a full gerber editor though).
When its all saved as a GWK file then send it to your manufacturer.
(who will likely reject it & have to redo it if you have messed up).
As stated, this only work IF your manufacturer can accept GWK files.
