27 Dec 2002 23:38 minimizing harddisk access ?? |

Hi ,
I need your help / opinion on how to minimize access to the
harddisk in my computer.
I have used a power down of 3 minutes, but when I am using a big
file for reading, like an ebook, the Hard disk keeps on reactivating,
in other words the cashing of harddisk data is not enough.
Please, advise on how to adjust settings, or may be to use Ramdisk.
My operating system is winxp pro 2002.
Thanks in advance.

Methinks you answered it yourself.
RAMDISK.
Copy the file to it first then run from there perhaps.

Only used it a couple of times, because I don't need to worry about disk activity, but the ramdisk software by S*upers*peed works pretty well:
ht*tp://www.s*upers*peed.com/
take out the *'s in the above
