THIS CIRCUIT CAN BE USED IN HOBBY VEHICALS . THESE 5 CONTROLS ARE DONE BY SIMPLE MEANS.
FORWARD .
REVERSE.
BRAKE.
SPEED CONTROL.

Hi,
Very strange braking solution !!!
It's looks like battery's short-circuit. Be careful with this solution your accumulators can explose.

ammarabbasi,
Move the wires on the break pushbutton so it's across the motor terminals...not the battery terminals. For better long term life for your pushbuttion, add a low ohm/high wattage resistor in series with one of the pushbutton wires. In the Fisher-Price Power Wheels (http://www.modifiedpowerwheels.com/forum/) they use a 0.47 ohm/10 watt resistor. This limits the breaking current, saving the switch contacts, and provides more gentle breaking action. The higher the resistance, the slower the breaking action...the lower the resistance, the more abrupt the breaking.

ammarabbasi,
Another problem I see is that unless your switch(s) have a center-off position, power is "always" being applied to the motor(s). But, this may be what you are showing in the lower left picture. A DPDT relay will not replace a DPDT-center-off switch.
As for steering, are you making a remot control device?

Hi,
For little power you can use integrated Hbridge (L292; L298; LMD18200).
This circuits contain current measure and braking command.
