Post09 May 2008 10:16   Question about load step response in buck converter

What decide the output voltage spike in load step?

My spike is 2 times than the spec. I try some methods, but little efficient.

Thanks for your reading!

How did you calculate the size of output capacitor. It plays amajor role in deciding the magnitude of voltage spike...

Visit TexasInstruments site ... there you shall find some useful documents related to ur question.

Thank you.
I design a PIN-PIN product, so can't change the output capacitor. Only change the internal circuit param.
What should i modify? EA gain, gm, or some else param?

increase the gain of error amplifier... this should help.

so you dont have a control on inductance value as well ... right??

I will try it.

U'r right. Best don't change any external component.

Then it might turn out to be abit difficult ... bcoz we generally decide values of output cap and inductor based on ripple voltage and current... so you have free the things at one of the sides ... but ur trying to hold the both!!!

Added after 1 hours 7 minutes:

hope you were able to save ur fort by tweaking amplifire gain...

you can increase the the compensation of the loop try
if the out device have no problem

Thank you. I know the fact, and now run up the gain.
