you can install mplayer after its download, which can play different kinds of video formats i.e: wmv, Dat , mp3, etc.
The installation instructions of mplayer can be found in README file of the player

Easiest is to get VLC player... get that u can see all type of videos...

update xine the one that comes with the distro doesn't support mpeg4 (divx) or mpeg audio (mp3), serch www.sf.net for xine

I too support VLC. It gives the same user experience in Linux as like in windows. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-fedora.html
It works fine.

VLC is good. Another alternative is RealPlayer.
Download it from:
http://www.real.com/linux/
Before installing RealPlayer, make sure to have the compat-libstdc++-33 compatibility libraries installed.
$ yum install compat-libstdc++-33
Install RealPlayer:
$ rpm -ivh RealPlayer10GOLD.rpm
