Hi I am assigned for a project to design host controller I am new to USB
Can anyone provide me good material or refrence design doc.
what is the diffrence between host controller and function controller
are they same thing. ?

| Also the USB specification (available from usb.org) should be considered when starting a project. It basically answers your question by just looking at the content.

| I think both side USB HC will remain same(just go through chapter 10 of USB2.0 specification)

Hi Sobhitk,
Host controller means The controller to which Device is connected.
Function controller means The controller to which Host is connected.
Example.
CPU USB root hub is connected Flash drive.
CPU act as host and Flash drive act as Device.
Now, the USb controller in the CPU (USB Host) is the USB Host controller.
and the USB controller in the Flash Drive (Device) is the USB function controller.
