Hi,
I need to understand the meaning of the convolution, correlation, and cross correlation.
Any good text book would be great....
Thanks in advance

| Try searching for "The Scientist & Engineer's Guide to Digital Signal Processing.pdf" on Google, it is free and covers quite a lot.

convolution:
when we know the impulse response of LTI system, by convolving the input with the impulse response of the system we can find the response of the system for that input (similarly you can find the response for any input with the convolution).
correlation:
this is the mathematical function to find the similarities between the two signals (EX: in the RADAR correlation is used to comapre the transimited and echo signal of the target)
correlation is convolution of mirror image of the one signal with the other signal
for more details refer Digital Signal Processing by Oppenhium & Schaffer

Try this:
http://www.dspguide.com/
You can download the book or a part of it - the convolution and correlation are explained very well.

| probability and stochastic processes by roy yates is pretty good if you can find a copy to read over, it covers all those topics

| For the topic of convolution i think that you can read "signal and sistems" of Oppenheim and to correlation the book of comunications of Haykin
