| We are trying to make a wireless sensor network, where we are required to send data from node to base station as well as from base station to node. Which software will you suggest us for simulating this network ?

NS2 is made for simulating wireless sensor network. Although I have never used it, I recommended this software.
Btw, can you state more clearly about your project ? I really appreciate any information from wireless sensor network projects because it is also my interested research field.

| using matlab is helpful. you can define the protocol and other things using m-file.

You can use either matlab or NS2.If you dont hv any knowledge abt any of them ,then I will sugest u to go for NS2.For NS2 u will need linux OS.

NS2 seems not to be a good simulator for WSNs. take a look at this:

u can select the simulators based on the requirements..
If u r new to this , u can go for omnet++ . it would be easier to work

Hey i m currently working on implementation of IPv6 on WSN which includes stuff like pinging.. router solicitation, router advertisement. and more...
So has anybody done anything in this regard.. ??
Also does anybody has a 6lowpan stack implemented for wsn..
actually there's a stack from sensinode ( nanostack) but it comes with another OS (freeRTOS)and i am not sure if it works on TinyOS ('NesC') or may be on MantisOS('C').
Any help, even weekly related to the matter , would be appreciated.
