Hello,
Does somebody know more information about CD3238 chip. It's used in iPhone and looks like it's Texas Instruments and seems it's capacitive sensor. Some data sheets, some more data will be appreciated.

| Hm... That's odd. TI and TI's distributors' web sites don't seem to have the datasheet for CD3238. Are you sure that the the part number is correct? Why do you think it's a capacitive sensor?

Hi,
I'm sure this part stays in the iPhone - I have one disassembled iPhone on my desk and can send you even a photo of the part. The parts is connected phisically with all Y lines of the touch screen sensor, so obviously it's the most important part of the matrix sensor (iPhone uses mutual capacitance measurments, also known as matrix measurments).
It's interesting that on the page

the part is listed like RS232 driver. OK, there is really such RS232 driver in the same package from TI - MAX 3238 but there is nothing common in the pins.
From other side you can see this IC in the sites where they sell chips

I really need some information about this chip - I have to build similar product and have to know what was used in iPhone, what is the technology.
I'll appreciate any help in finding some information about iPhone touch screen and especially about the chip CD3238, which is the most important part of the capacitive measurments in iPhone. By some reason there is really no information available on the net...

| I think the BCM5974 is the touch controller of iphone, but there is no detailed info for it either.
