hi all.. this is kranthi...
As a part of my mtech project, it is required for me know the hardware description of network interface card (ie., individual components in it and their functions etc..) can anybody send me related material regarding that.. or suggest me any web site for it.. pls help me... thanx in advance....

Hi kranthi,
search for network driver and select the ej3020 network driver, i m not sure the number of the driver details.

A common ic used for ethernet interfacing is the Realtek RTL8019.
Download the data sheet for this ic and you will find all the info you need.

in any network kard there are:
1)any connnector e.g Rj45
2)one magnet which is between Rj45 and physical layer IC
3)one PHY IC-> physical layer
4)one MAC IC-> MAC layer
somtimes the PHY IC and MAC IC are integrated in one IC
any question?

One can also use Microchip make ENC28J60 Ethernet controller with serial (SPI) Interface
It is available in 28-pin DIP and SOIC package
