Hi!! I am a new member. Currently i am using the Ansoft Designer and Ansoft Ensemble to design a rectangular microstrip antenna. I am not sure about the use of interface port and transmission line (in microstrip) for Ansoft Designer. Is that a must to include the interface port and transmission line in the design?

What is the difference between Ansoft Designer and Ansoft Ensemble?

The width and length calculated from Ansoft Designer is different from the calculation provided in Balanis Antenna book. Why? I should trust which 1?

What is S parameter. i have gone through the help in Ansoft Designer and Ansoft Ensemble but i can't find the explanation for S parameter.

If you do not know the S parameters, you can not do any EM related design. Because most design tool will output the simulated result in S parameters. Please refer to any microwave engineering or microwave/RF circuit testbook. This should be explained in detail in the a few beginning chapters.
