If you shelled out cash to purchase your ebook and would like to use it without having to worry whether you transferred your license to your new computer or forgot where you purchased your ebook to obtain a new license here are some suggestions.

Adobe ebook DRM
Software needed
Acrobat 6 Pro
Hexedit
After downloading your pdf save a copy to a temp dir in case you mess up
Open the pdf in the temp directory with hexedit
Search for ModifyRights
Reverse the value of ModifyRights First=” and save the file
Open the modified file in Acrobat 6 Pro and change the security settings from DRM to none
It will ask are you sure and click yes
Extract all pages
Save extracted pages and you now have a usable PDF in its original form.

Software needed
Acrobat 7 Pro
Pitstop Professional
On a network install Acrobat 7 Pro on any computer
Share PDF Printer on network
On a different computer open your pdf and print to the PDF network printer
Click Properties and uncheck “Do not send fonts to PDF printer”
I have not idea why this next step work but it does
Click on Advanced and then OK
Now print
Edit out any transparent crap with Pitsop Pro
If you do not click advanced and then OK the transparencies will be flattened with the text and when you use Pitstop some text will be deleted when removing.
As always support the authors and publishers by buying the books you have.
