My bare board arrived now . I thought that not sent it, but I'm in mistake. You shipped it in the same day when I give you my address.
In this moment I am opening the package, your desing is very arranged, I like the blue solder mask and then I see that the silkscreen is very explicit.
Thanks for all Blueroomelectronics, now is time to find some parts and then build my Junebug. And later to do my full review with pics.

Hi blueroomelectronics.
I have got my bare junebug PCB and thanks for indluding those sil resistors
I must say the board looks very professionally liad out and the silk screen is very clear, I've downloeded your assy manual had a read through it and I must say verly nicely laid out and really easy to follow.
I thought I had all of the parts for it, but I found out that I was the 2 mosfets short which I have ordered them so they should be here soon,
I already have a project lined up to test the programmer part out and debug if need be( which no doubt I will )
But what i really like is that I can run a 18F1320 at the same time which is very good saving me time building up a sperate board for the TX unit and also I can do my A/D conversion before TX'ing my data
I'll keep you informed on progress I make

You can hook it up without the fets, it should connect but show a VDD error. Use the PICkit 2 software as it has the diagnostics and the name your programmer functions.
You'll really find the UART tester built into the PICkit 2 software handy.

Hi blueroomelectronics.
Lamentably, I have not enough time to make my review for your board, I have so much work in these days. I build it and all works perfect, the only problem that I have is to find pack resistors, but I build it with singles ones.
Thanks for all and soon I make my review with some pictures of my final board.

In Junebug Assembly Instruction you have shown a software and written microchip website for a free download will u please write complete address
and
in schematics of PICkit2 you have shown a 16 pin (CON3) connector what is for and please tell what is ferrite bead

Hello Saeed_pk.
The Junebug or PICkit 2 software is all available from Microchips website, in the development tools and IDE section.
You'll want (all free)
MPLAB 8.01
PICkit2 2.40 (standalone, UART tool, etc)
PK2CMD.exe (command line, handy for Swordfish BASIC)
A ferrite bead is a piece of wire with a ferrite bead around it, it'll block high frequency noise from the DC power path.

The 16pin connector along the top is optional and for advanced programmers. It brings out all the unused I/O from the 18F2550 so you can use the Junebug as a USB experimenter (which a few PICkit 2 owners do!)

Both the Ferrite Bead and inductor are available from digikey. The price locally of a 18F2550 is about $15 CDn
It'll work without the ferrite bead (just use a wire).

Though there are people kept reporting that it works in the past months, not until recently, this design has been found that the USB signal is wrong by a fan in this forum. Even the designer doesn’t know it until it was point out. Big mistake, isn't it?
Don't know who are all those people reporting bought the board and made it working. Also don't know how it could be possible to make it working without a correct USB signal.
Probably it is because of the money in my pocket and in your pocket.
Do these guys have a clue what is electric and electronics? Or just pretending, Making Fake staff and misleading us?

Well if you bothered the check the Junebug manual on the site you'd see it was fixed. The PCB was always correct. It's also now fixed on the schematic above. Happy.

The "SE" edition can program most Flash based 5V PICs (no 3.3V support)

The Junebug is a simplified PICkit2 design, it omits the EEPROM as they are currently not used and is a 5V only device programmer / debugger.
The Firmware can be found when you install MPLAB (PICkit 2 directory)
