Re: perl code to run in Allegro

Hi prasguy,

I am not aware of Perl script to run in Allegro.
Allegro has a powerful "skill" script capability.
With Skill users can run many useful commands in Allegro.
There are tutorials on line and there is a Yahoo skill school user group also.
In addition you can download some script from sourcelink.

Re: perl code to run in Allegro

Thanks Majnoon.

Yes, Allegro is highly capable of running the skill scripts. But at same time, u can find the perl5 or higher version installation is coming along with Cadence Allegro, it means that allegro supporting perl.

'm right?

Also, 'm trying to learn some programming language which gives support to my PCB Layout. So found that PERL Script is gud to start my career in programming side.

Please let me know all of ur suggestion, whether 'm on right track.

Re: perl code to run in Allegro

You are correct Perl is now shipped as part of Cadence instalation.
I was told it was working in version 14X only on UNIX not windows.

Personally I am still trying to learn how to write skill codes.

Can not imagine using Allegro without skill utilities.
