I'm fighting, trying to take 3D spherical antenna pattern data and plot it to a 2D contour plot. I can do the everyday spherical transformation map to a x-y plot, but the contours are funny and not lining up so like a tradition contour map.... I need the projection equations... Any references or hints? I've seen these plots in a U V space plot..
Any help?
Thanks

The problem if translating essentially 3D data to 2D has been facing cartographers for many years.
I would start by looking up various map projections until you find one that works for you.
I think I have a catalog of different projections but I'll need to look in several obscure bookshelves to see if I can find the book. You might also find Dutton or Bowditch helpful. Those are books on navigation.
You may want to take a look at MatLab's site. I have often found a path to the solution of problems like this in the technical sections.

| I've searched some through the Matlab site, but I'll revise my criteria. Thanks for the references.
