Hi all,
I was wondering: is it legal to be a software consultant and use free software to make applications work for companies?
An example: a company asks a software consultant to do an automation task in Excel, May the software consultant write the code without filling the pockets of microsoft if the company and the software consultant has a legal version of excel?
Another example: May a software consultant use Visual Basic express edition to program a small office tool for a company and ask money for it?
May a software consultant write software in dev-cpp that he sells?
May a Libero IDE user (free ACTEL FPGA SOFTWARE) sell its programmed FPGA to a company?
Thank you,

From the microsoft website:
- Can I use Express Editions for commercial use?
- Yes, there are no licensing restrictions for applications built using the Express Editions.
dev-cpp
- Yes
Libero IDE
-Yes
I dont understand the excel question.
