05 Apr 2007 16:43 What are the Pulse parameters? |
|
|
|
Hi ,,,
In my design i use pulse as input to my ckt , so what are the pulse parameters should i use for pulse simulation (falling t, raising t, delay t, etc) to get close results.
thanks

well
1- width (duration)
2- amplitude
3- delay
4- rise time
5- fall time
6- frequency
7- duty cycle
i don't know if f forgot somthing

and in Cadence analogLib for vpulse: DC value, AC phase, AC magnitude, min voltage and max voltage, period, noise, XF magnitude, PAC magnitude and phase, Temperature coeff. 1 , 2, Nominal temperature...
Everything depends on what is your circuit...

There is also ringing and sag.

Hi ,,,
that is ok , but what the values of these parameters which close to real pulse signal ( to get real sim. results).
thanks

real pulse, what you mean in real pulse, it depends what kind of real circuit makes it:-S
(what is your bandwidth, etc..)
Hard to answer for this without any other knowledge...

The rise and fall times are set by the frequency response bandwidth. Sag is set by any low frequency cutoff. Ringing is caused by the peaking at the high end of the frequency response.
If you want some typical values try 10 ns rise and fall with 10% duty cycle and 10 MHz pulse repetition rate. These are commonly done by logic ICs such as the 74hc family and similar ones.

Hi ,,,
Yes I want typical values of pulse parameters for simulation . Well, the freq. 100MHz with 50% duty cycle. What you mean by it's depending on ckt freq. response bandwidth (what is Sag?)?
thanks

it is not a big rule because if I am working with pulses I use 100 ps rise and fall time and 1 ns pulse width
Added after 56 seconds:
of course everything depends on the bandwidth of your system
if you need for UWB application, you can see the standard

Hi
even me I work with same values for UWB application . Is it ok?
what u mean by bandwidth?
thanks

Hi ,,,
What is the pulse standard for UWB applications?
thanks
