Movement of holes is nothing but due to the relative motion of electrons in the valence band.Then why is their mobility lower than electrons?

| due to higher effective mass of the holes , hole mobility is typically significantly lower than electron mobility.

the mobility of electrons is due to their movement in the conduction band
though the mobility of holes is just the movement of electrons it is in the valence band and has a lot of oppositions and hence is lower compared to the electrons....

because holes have greater effective mass wrt electrons ,
and mobility is inversly proportional to mass ,i.e. if mass increases mobility decreases .
