connection problem for infared photo detector circuit

Post14 Mar 2007 7:22   connection problem for infared photo detector circuit

i wish to connect a circuit as circuit as shown below.

i have connect it but it not work. the voltage comparator i use is LM311. i connect the output to pin7, pin 4,5,6 not use. pin 2 & 3 is connect as the circuit shown.
other than this, the irled im using is get in pair, both have 2 pin. but its not work.
i also try use a 2 pin phototransistor, but it also not work.

can some one pls help?

PIN 4 -V must to connect to GND (-)

If you correctly connect circuit.
1.Try to connect LM311 output with transistor. Use transistor to drive LED.
2. Change R1 value (actually you have to know photo-transistor gain). More easier you can try to change R1 biger than 1M or lower than 330k. But I think you should try to change biger than 1M.
