Post15 Feb 2007 4:05   LM2621 SEPIC Converter Question

Hello!
I am building one SEPIC converter with LM2621 device, for supply one telemetry equipment with GSM/GPRS module, microcontroller and some logical devices and human interfaces (LEDīs, push button, etc).

The SEPIC converter, building around LM2621, have primary function of supply all digital low voltage(+3.0V) devices (like microcontroller, logical devices and human interface only - Maximum current consumption are 100mA). In my project, the primary voltage source for SEPIC converter is one of 6.0~8.0VDC and the secondary is one LiIon battery of 3.60~4.20VDC. The currently design has based in the following National Semiconductor Application Note: LM2621 Design Document 200605 PADC_NSC0326.pdf at wich mention that maximun voltagem input for the converter is +5.5V. The question is: I can use the topology shown in application note? How I can diminish the drained from converter?

Anyone here have design anything with this ic?
